Choose for the real conditions

Packaging material must match actual handling. Folding paperboard supports many display-focused forms; corrugated constructions can offer specific protection depending on grade and flute; rigid board is associated with premium presentation and composed multi-part assemblies.

Surface character matters

Smooth uncoated, coated, textured and specialty papers influence how light, colour and touch are perceived. Finish selection should be balanced with print legibility, recycling considerations and available production methods.

Ask the right questions

What is the weight of the item? Will the package be exposed to moisture or food contact? Will it go through parcel delivery? Will it be stored in a humid environment? These questions inform a more useful material discussion.

Validate, do not assume

Claims such as food-contact suitability, recycled content, compostability or performance require material-specific evidence and may depend on the relevant destination market.

Technical details and material claims must be verified for the actual project. These notes are general educational guidance.
